ADHD/Autism Coaching for Teens and Young Adults
For the young adult on the spectrum seeking an independent life, informed psychoeducation and coaching is often even more important than traditional therapies.
I assist young adults on the autism spectrum to achieve their goals of making friends, finding a satisfying career, living independently, and enjoying successful relationships.
In addition to my years as a teacher and school counselor, I served as a counselor and team leader at Franklin Academy in New England, an intensive college-prep boarding school for students with learning and processing differences – particularly students with Aspergers and Non-Verbal Learning Difference (NVLD). I spent thousands of hours helping students manage their deficit areas by using their strengths in all areas of functioning - Social/Emotional, Academic, and Residential – and learned how important it is to address these life skills as a dynamic, integrated whole.
